Pattern for a knitted a 3d mouth and tongue. I have called it 3d simply because its shaped and sits like an ornament. Stones Inspired!
The pattern uses the intarsia technique when changing colours. Its worked flat and the tongue knit separately. The images show various colours using red heart super saver yarn which is quite a firm acrylic yarn, good for toys and crafting. (Aran weight) medium worsted 10ply, on 4.5mm needles. Finished measurements are approx. 12cm x 12cm to tip of tongue. (4.75 inches x 4.75 inches) Mouth part 12cm x 6cm (4.75 inches x 2.5 inches). Shown using Red Heart Super Saver Yarn (solid colours) a popular yarn and readily available.
