Its that time of year again ……. I have designed and written this pattern to share with you for knitted snowmen.
The snowmen are knitted then dressed onto a polystyrene cone. The cones measure 17cm in height and approx 6.5cm diameter. Mine where purchased from Hobbycraft UK.
The great thing about this pattern that you can adjust colours for whatever you have in your stash and use your creativity to personalise them. With eyes, without eyes add a hat and scarf of your design. If you do want to do quite an intricate pattern on your hat I would suggest just adding a couple of stitches to allow for tension differences on colourwork, but overall knit one up and you can always adjust this if you want to make different ones like the set of three shown. I love these little guys, but Don’t know what you mean when you said 5ply yarn, where do you get that kind of yarn. According to the needles size. I’m assuming that it is very fine yarn?
Thank you Dorie for the question. The yarn is classed as DK (double knitting) Yarn in the UK, which I think is the equivalent of Light/8 ply in other countries.
Thank you so much for the pattern. For anyone who is having difficulty finding the cones in the UK, The Works sell 3 for £1. I should imagine in America you will find them at The Dollar Store.
