Bunny Rabbit Knitting Pattern

Bunny Rabbit Knitting Pattern

A Stash buster using small amounts of Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, more information on yarn below.

This knitting pattern is for bunny rabbits,  finished size is approx. 10cm/4 inches high to tip of ear, 6cm/2.5 inches at the widest point. The rabbits are knitting in one piece – the ears are knit separately then joined and you continue to knit the rest of the body.  Quick little knits which are fun to make and you will definitely want to do another !  I have used toy eyes and nose on some – but you talented sewers can sew eyes and nose etc.to create and embellish if you prefer.  A little pom pom or loop of yarn can be added for a tail.

I have used Red Heart Super Saver Yarn for this pattern (Aran weight 10ply).  This yarn is good for crafting it is quite a thick yarn and being 100% acrylic it has structure which is good for toys to stand up.  If you are substituting yarn – Chunky Yarn (UK) using 4.5mm needles achieves similar results, it needs to be a thicker Aran or Chunky (US would be medium/bulky 10/12 ply), its not suitable for thinner/lighter weight yarn.  There are images at the bottom of this post showing a finished knit using Stylecraft Alpaca Chunky Yarn as an alternative. Enjoy creating.
